Summer Programs

This summer, Walk on Water is offering four specialized summer programs running from June 1 through July 31, each designed to support growth, learning, and connection through hands-on, therapeutic, and enrichment-based experiences.

About our Summer Programs

Participants may enroll in horseback riding instruction focused on beginner and intermediate riding skills, emphasizing confidence, balance, and horsemanship in a safe and supportive environment. Riding camps will increase by level throughout the summer.

Our Art Enrichment Program offers guided instruction in creative expression, with a focus on developing line work and brush strokes, exploring color theory in nature, and learning how to transfer natural textures into two-dimensional artwork.

We are also proud to offer Certified Reading Enrichment Program through Reading Reins, a structured literacy-based program designed to strengthen reading skills and build confidence through evidence-based instruction.

In addition, our new VPKSIS program, led by a licensed Occupational Therapist, provides personalized, developmentally supportive interaction with the ranch environment and horses, promoting sensory integration, motor planning, and functional engagement.

Horseback Riding Level 1: Beginner Program

Ages: 5-12
Dates: June 1 – 5, 2026
Time: 8:30 – 12:45*
Cost: $325 per rider

Designed for riders with little to no horseback riding experience
Each day begins with Bible study and devotional time to kick off the day
Learn from the ground up what it takes to care for and ride a horse

Hands-on instruction in:

Horse safety and barn rules
Grooming and basic horse care
Tacking up (saddling and bridling)

Introduction to riding skills:

Proper riding position and balance
Basic steering and control
Navigating through simple riding obstacles
Riding at the walk, with the opportunity to trot with instructor assistance

Learn about:

Horse behavior and communication
All things horses—daily care, routines, equipment, and life around the barn
Build confidence, responsibility, and respect for horses
Small group instruction in a safe, supportive environment

Camp Hours: 8:30 AM – 12:45 PM
Optional Aftercare: Available until 5:00 PM for an additional $100, filled with crafts, games, and fun activities

Reservation: A non-refundable down payment of $150 is required to claim your spot, the remaining balance of the $325 is due no later than May 25, 2026.

Horseback Riding Level 2: Walk-Trot Beginner Program

Ages: 5-12
Dates: June 22-26, 2026
Time: 8:30 – 12:45*
Cost: $325 per rider

Designed for riders who are comfortable at the walk and navigating their horse independently or those who are just starting to trot in lessons
Each day begins with Bible study and devotional time to kick off the day
Focused on building confidence, strength, and independence in the saddle

Continued hands-on horsemanship instruction in:

Horse safety and barn responsibility
Grooming, tacking, and care with increased independence

Advancing riding skills with an emphasis on:

Proper riding position and balance at the walk and trot
Learning to post the trot
Steering with greater control and accuracy
Riding through obstacle patterns and exercises
Developing rhythm, balance, and coordination

Horse behavior and communication
All things horses—care routines, equipment use, and barn life
Encourages growth in confidence, responsibility, and teamwork
Small group instruction in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment

Horseback Riding Level 3: Trot Intermediate Program

Ages: 9-15
Dates: July 6-10, 2026
Time: 8:30 – 12:45*
Cost: $325 per rider

Designed for riders who are confident at the walk and trot and ready to strengthen and develop more skills, with the goal of working toward cantering. Each day begins with Bible study and devotional time to kick off the day. Focused on building consistency, control, and independence in the saddle.

Continued horsemanship instruction with increased responsibility, including:

Horse safety and barn awareness
Grooming, tacking, and care with growing independence

Advancing riding skills with an emphasis on:

Strengthening balance and position at the walk and trot
Improving posting and transitions between gaits
Steering with accuracy and confidence
Riding more challenging patterns and obstacle exercises
Introduction to pole work and skill-building exercises

Learn more about:

Horse behavior and communication
All things horses—care routines, equipment use, and life around the barn
Encourages growth in confidence, responsibility, and teamwork
Small group instruction in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment

Ages: 9-15
Dates: July 13-17, 2026
Time: 8:30 – 12:45*
Cost: $325 per rider

Designed for riders who are already cantering or ready to begin cantering. Each day begins with Bible study and devotional time to kick off the day. Focused on refining skills, confidence, and independence in the saddle and on the ground with horses.

Continued horsemanship instruction with increased responsibility, including:

Horse safety and advanced barn awareness
Grooming, tacking, and care with independence

Advanced riding skills with an emphasis on:

Canter transitions and maintaining balance
Developing correct position and effective cues
Riding with rhythm, control, and confidence at all gaits
Navigating more advanced patterns and obstacle exercises
Strengthening communication between horse and rider

Encourages growth in confidence, leadership, responsibility, and teamwork

Art Enrichment Summer Program

Ages: 6 – Adult
Dates: June 8–12 and July 20–24, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Cost: $250 per participant

Walk on Water’s Art Enrichment Classes provide a creative, hands-on experience designed to nurture artistic growth, confidence, and self-expression in a supportive and engaging environment. These classes are open to children, teens, and adults of all skill levels.

Participants will explore a wide range of artistic media, including watercolor, pen and ink, acrylic painting on canvas, junk journaling, diamond dots, and clay sculpting. Each medium is introduced through guided instruction and adapted to meet individual ability levels.

Instruction focuses on foundational and expressive art skills, including:

Line work and brush strokes to build control, movement, and visual storytelling
Color theory in nature, helping participants observe and translate natural color relationships into their artwork
Texture transfer from nature to 2D art, teaching students how to interpret and recreate natural textures through layered and mixed-media techniques

Classes emphasize step-by-step, personalized instruction while encouraging creativity, experimentation, and self-discovery. Hands-on projects are designed to foster artistic confidence and joy in the creative process.

All projects are completed during class and may be taken home. Each participant will also receive a take-home supply goodie bag.
